Getting There
This walk was organised and led by Mike B as a CBC walk:
28-29 May: Mt Tennent Packwalk – M/M. Starting Saturday midday we do the short, steep (600m) walk up the Alpine Walking Track from Namadgi Visitor Centre, set up camp at the saddle about 1km NW of the summit, view the sunset and Canberra lights (and the sunrise the next morning) from a rock outcrop near the campsite. Return home by lunchtime Sunday. Tank water is available at the summit (another 200m climb). Contact the leader by 7 pm Friday. Map: Williamsdale 1:25000 Leader: Mike B. Transport: $25 per car, $6 - $10 per person. Limit 8.

It turned into a half-day ramble, with starters Mike B, Stephen M and myself. I was down that way for breakfast and we met at Point Hut Crossing.
Walking by 10.30am. Met an 85 year old guy at the sign on register who was disappointed with himself that he couldn't get up the hill further than he did. Good grief - if I'm walking anywhere at 85, I'll be pleased. Several other walkers and joggers on the hill today.
1hr 55mins for the 7.2km up. We climbed up the fire tower for as far as one can and had a look about, then down out of the breeze for a bite to eat.
I left the lads and trotted back, as I was in need of brownie points. 1hr 5mins back.
Distance: 14.2km Climb: 800m. Time: 10.30am - 2.00pm (3hrs 30mins), with 30mins of looking about from the fire tower and a break.
Grading: L/E; M(9)
